Russian folk dancers sweep every category at Star Talent 2026

Senior students from the Yagodnoye Children’s School of Arts have returned with top honours from an international competition. Their choreographic ensemble, Russian Souvenir, secured first place in every category at the Star Talent 2026 festival in Kazan, Tatarstan. The young dancers impressed judges with three distinct routines, earning praise for their skill and creativity. The competition took place in Kazan, where the school’s model ensemble showcased three performances: Playful Girls, Little Boots, and Painted Spoons. Each routine highlighted different aspects of folk and character dance, with the Russian spoon dance, Painted Spoons, drawing particular admiration from the audience.

The jury—comprising Leisan Khamatova, Airat Kalimullin, and Almaz Nizamov—highlighted the group’s unity, technical precision, and vibrant costumes. Special recognition went to instructor Olga Maschenko for her meticulous work on Little Boots, a folk dance that demonstrated both tradition and innovation.

All three performances earned the ensemble first-place awards. The judges noted the dancers’ discipline and artistry, solidifying the school’s reputation in the competitive arts scene. The victory marks a significant achievement for the Yagodnoye school’s choreography department. Their success at Star Talent 2026 reflects both the students’ dedication and the high standard of instruction. The ensemble’s triple win has set a benchmark for future participants in the festival.
