Meerbusch appoints city managers to guide Osterath's sustainable growth
Meerbusch has launched a new city management team to oversee development in Osterath, the district with the highest growth potential. The initiative is part of the Integrated Action Concept for Osterath (IHKO), a 23-measure plan for sustainable urban enhancement. Funding comes from the federal and state Urban Development Program 'Vibrant Centers'. The IHKO was shaped through extensive public input, focusing on preserving Osterath’s small-town character while fostering rural charm. A key element of the plan is a neighbourhood development strategy designed to guide long-term improvements.
Julian Kundel-Füth and Sebastian Ritter-Müller, employed by Dortmund-based Stadtbüro GmbH, will lead the effort as city managers. Their role includes acting as a direct link between residents, local associations, and the city administration. They will address questions about the IHKO and its implementation. Starting mid-June, the team will be available at the Family Center in Osterath every Monday and Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM. This regular presence aims to ensure accessibility for all community members seeking support or information.
The city management team will serve as the central point of contact for Osterath’s development projects. Their work will help coordinate the 23 measures outlined in the IHKO, ensuring progress aligns with both public input and funding requirements. The initiative marks a structured approach to balancing growth with the district’s existing character.
