Emmendingen's Youth Explore Democracy Through Art in New Exhibition

An exhibition titled Democracy in Pictures will open at Haus am Festplatz in Emmendingen from May 11 to May 22, 2026. The event will display artwork created by students across the district, offering their unique views on democracy and its values. The exhibition will focus on key themes such as civic participation, diversity, respect, and social cohesion. Visitors can explore these ideas through the students’ creative works, which reflect their understanding of democratic principles.

To encourage engagement, interactive prompts and activities will be set up on-site. These will allow attendees to reflect on democracy in a hands-on way. School groups are particularly welcome, with the exhibition designed to fit into educational programmes. The event is free to attend and open to everyone during the vehicle registration office’s working hours. No registration is needed, and the building is fully accessible to all visitors.

The exhibition will run for nearly two weeks, providing an opportunity for the community to explore democracy through art. With no entry fee and open access, organisers aim to make the event widely available to residents and students alike.
