Blooming creativity: Flower market and art exhibition light up historic fortress
The Friends of the Church Fortress are hosting the 13th Fleurs & Flair flower market on May 30, 2023. This popular summer event draws crowds from across the tri-border region. Visitors can explore thousands of flowers, gardening supplies, and decorative items from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The market will offer more than just plants. Natural skincare products, homemade jams, and syrups will be on sale alongside sweet and savoury snacks. Entry to the market itself is free, though a separate exhibition carries a small fee.
Running alongside the market, the Kirchhof School will present *Powerful Lightness*, a summer exhibition. Around 30 works by Oberelsbach artist Christiane Sieder will be displayed. Admission to the exhibition costs €3. Bright blossoms and fragrant herbs will fill the fortress courtyard, creating a striking contrast with the historic stone walls. The event blends nature, art, and local crafts in one vibrant setting.
The flower market has become a seasonal favourite for locals and visitors alike. With free entry, food stalls, and an art exhibition, it offers something for everyone. The event runs all day, giving guests plenty of time to browse and enjoy the displays.
