Russians prefer home storage over external units for unused items
A recent survey by GK Kraina Development has revealed how residents in three major Russian cities store their rarely used items. The developer, with two decades of experience, looked at preferences in Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, and Novosibirsk. Most people favour solutions that keep belongings at home rather than paying for external options.
The study found that home-based storage remains the top choice for items not regularly needed. Residents often rely on built-in drawers, wardrobes with loft compartments, and vacuum-sealed bags to save space. Some even reported never requiring extra storage for their seldom-used possessions.
Renting external storage units ranked as the second most popular method. However, leaving items with relatives or friends proved the least common approach. GK Kraina Development, which has focused on resident comfort since its founding, uses these findings to improve its designs. The company now advises buyers to assess apartment layouts for storage potential before making a decision. Their ongoing refinements aim to ensure all personal items can fit comfortably within the home.
The survey highlights a clear preference for keeping belongings close by. GK Kraina Development continues to adapt its apartment designs based on resident needs. Their goal is to create spaces that eliminate the need for external storage solutions.
