Meerbusch's speed-dating events aim to solve skilled worker shortages in care
A unique recruitment campaign is returning to Meerbusch to tackle the shortage of skilled workers in care and education. Last year, the initiative successfully hired 10 employees for a new facility. Now, it is expanding to two residential sites in the area with a fresh round of speed-dating events. The campaign, run by Hephata Leben gGmbH, uses speed-dating sessions to connect professionals in education, nursing, and social work with residents. These meetings take place directly in the shared living spaces of those who need support. Residents also share their hopes and priorities for future employees through videos posted on social media.
Events for Meerbusch-Bäderich will be held on May 26, 28, and 30 at St. Mauritius Church. For Meerbusch-Bovert, sessions are scheduled for May 27, 28, and 30 at Wieler Bakery. The campaign is promoted through flyers, posters, and the website youmakemestrong.de. Marion Siems, Head of Communications, highlighted that this approach offers a creative solution to the ongoing staffing crisis in the social sector. The organisation hopes the personal touch of these events will attract more dedicated professionals to the field.
The expanded campaign aims to fill critical roles in Meerbusch’s care facilities. By bringing candidates and residents together in a direct, personal way, the initiative seeks to address the growing demand for skilled workers. Further details and registration can be found on the campaign’s website.
