Magadan's Gorokhovo Field to become a vibrant memorial park and community hub

Gorokhovo Field in Magadan is set for a major transformation. Plans include a new park as part of a wider memorial complex and museum. The project aims to create a space that honours local heroes while serving as a hub for leisure and public events. Design work on the park is already underway. The goal is to develop a year-round space that balances beauty with practical use. It will also support patriotic education and community gatherings.

Residents are being encouraged to help shape the park’s future. Until May 13, they can submit ideas and suggestions through an online link. The city has thanked locals for their ongoing contributions to Magadan’s growth.

The first phase of the revitalisation focuses on the park and its integration with the memorial complex. Officials hope the finished project will become a source of pride for future generations. The park’s design will reflect input from the community. Once complete, it will serve as a functional and meaningful space for events, relaxation, and remembrance. The deadline for public contributions remains May 13.
