Davao Trio 2026 kicks off with cultural flair and economic ambition

The Davao Trio 2026 officially launched on May 7 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang. The three-day event unites innovation, design, food, and travel under one platform. Distinguished guests, including city officials and industry leaders, marked the occasion with a ceremonial opening rooted in local tradition. The opening ceremony began with a performance by the Kalumon Performing Ensemble. Ms. Jan Marine Rendon hosted the programme, guiding attendees through the event’s highlights. A symbolic ritual followed, featuring the Kudlong and the Lusong at Alho, honouring Mindanao’s cultural heritage.

Mr. Joseph L. Ang, Founding Chairman of Worldbex Services International, delivered the opening remarks. He emphasised the event’s role in fostering growth across multiple sectors. Hon. Councilor Atty. Diosdado Mahipus Jr. later stated that the organisation remains dedicated to advancing infrastructure, business, and tourism in the region. The ceremony drew prominent figures, such as Hon. Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte and Hon. Vice Mayor Rodrigo 'Rigo' S. Duterte II. Dr. Cecil Ravelas also attended, adding to the event’s significance. Together, they witnessed the official unveiling of PHILBEX Davao, MAFBEX Davao, and TLEX Davao—three major exhibitions combined into one platform. The Davao Trio 2026 brings together the construction, travel, and food industries. Over three days, visitors can explore the latest trends, products, and experiences shaping Mindanao’s future.

The event now runs until May 9, offering a hub for networking and discovery. Exhibitors and attendees will engage in discussions, demonstrations, and cultural exchanges. Organisers expect the convergence to boost local industries and strengthen Davao’s position as a key economic centre.
