Freiburg's Morat Halls open 2026 exhibition calls for artists worldwide

Applications for exhibitions at Freiburg’s Morat Halls will open on May 7, 2026. Artists from the region and beyond can submit proposals for two distinct venues: the Morat-Halle Nord and the Municipal Gallery. Each space offers different opportunities, with a deadline set for May 17, 2026. The Morat-Halle Nord welcomes both regional and international artists, including those working on interdisciplinary projects. While the exhibition space is provided free of charge, no dedicated budget is allocated for productions. However, artists can apply for additional funding through Freiburg’s Cultural Office.

The Municipal Gallery, on the other hand, focuses on professional artists from the tri-border region with formal training. Only two exhibitions will be selected for this venue in 2027. Successful applicants will receive compensation of up to €500 each. Artists must choose between the two venues when applying. Each submission can only target one location.

The call for applications runs from May 7 to May 17, 2026. Selected artists will gain access to exhibition spaces, with some financial support available depending on the venue. The process aims to showcase diverse artistic work across Freiburg’s cultural sites.
