Takko Fashion opens a €80M logistics hub in Salzgitter by 2028

Takko Fashion is expanding its logistics network with a major new distribution centre in Salzgitter. The company has leased nearly 60,000 square metres of space at Garbe Industrial’s logistics hub, marking a significant investment in its supply chain operations. The facility is expected to create up to 600 jobs once fully operational in mid-2028. The new centre will be built on a 200,000-square-metre plot in Salzgitter-Heerte, part of a larger development featuring two modern logistics buildings with a combined floor area of around 71,000 square metres. Garbe Industrial highlighted the site’s prime location, high-quality infrastructure, and immediate availability as key reasons for securing Takko Fashion as a tenant. The total investment in the property amounts to approximately €80 million.

Takko Fashion plans to relocate its e-commerce and stock replenishment operations from Winsen to the new Salzgitter facility. Once open, the centre will serve both the company’s physical stores and support the growth of its online business. Timo Esleben, Director of Supply Chain & Logistics at Takko Fashion, explained that the move would centralise operations, streamline processes, and boost overall efficiency. Construction and setup are underway, with the facility set to begin operations by mid-2028. The long-term goal includes the creation of up to 600 jobs, reinforcing the site’s role as a key hub in the retailer’s logistics strategy.

The Salzgitter distribution centre represents a major step in Takko Fashion’s logistics expansion. By consolidating operations and improving efficiency, the company aims to strengthen its retail and online services. The project also brings a substantial employment boost to the region, with hundreds of jobs expected in the coming years.
