Forage and Feast: Guided Wild Herb Walks Return This Summer

Sonja Heinemann will lead a series of guided herb walks at her apiary and workshop in Weimarschmieden. Each session will teach participants how to identify and use native wild herbs. The events run from late May through early August, with a small fee for attendance. The walks are scheduled for May 30, June 12, 19, and 26, followed by July 4, 10, and 24, and a final session on August 1. Anyone wishing to join must register in advance. The cost per walk is €45.

During the outings, attendees will explore the practical uses of local wild herbs. Together, they will prepare a wild herb salad with homemade oxymel. The group will also make fresh herb butter and craft herb salt to take home. At the end of each walk, participants will share a communal meal. Refreshing herbal lemonade will be served alongside the homemade creations.

The guided herb walks offer hands-on experience in foraging and cooking with wild plants. Each session includes practical activities and a shared meal. Registration is required, with spaces available for the upcoming dates.
