Flow Haus Transforms a Mumbai Apartment Into a Mediterranean Oasis

A suburban Mumbai apartment has been transformed into a serene living space inspired by Mediterranean design. Named Flow Haus, the 1,100 sq ft home blends natural light, soft colours, and smooth transitions to create a sense of calm. The apartment’s design centres on fluidity and openness. Sunlight streams through tall windows, illuminating sun-washed walls and giving the space a warm, inviting glow. The architects, Sameer Balvally and Shilpa Jain Balvally of Studio Osmosis, shaped the interior to feel both timeless and airy.

The colour palette draws from coastal landscapes, with terracotta, pale blue, and chalky white tones. These shades complement natural materials, reinforcing the Mediterranean influence. Every detail—from the soft edges to the uncluttered layout—encourages a seamless flow between rooms.

Flow Haus now stands as a peaceful retreat within the city. Its thoughtful design, combining light, colour, and space, offers a quiet contrast to Mumbai’s bustling surroundings. The apartment’s harmonious layout reflects the architects’ vision of a home that feels both grounded and open.
