Dubai transforms its skyline with 300,000 sqm of new green spaces in 2023

Dubai is expanding its green spaces as part of a broader plan to improve urban living. The city has added nearly 300,000 square metres of landscaped areas in early 2023 alone. This push reflects a commitment to blending modern development with environmental and aesthetic goals. By the end of March 2023, Dubai’s total green coverage reached 55.52 million square metres. The municipality continues to prioritise planting along major roads, highways, and public spaces. These efforts include both large-scale projects and community-driven planting schemes.

Municipal teams are using modern, sustainable irrigation to maintain the new green zones. The city’s landscaped parks, tree-lined streets, and public gardens have long shaped its visual identity. Beyond appearance, these spaces help cut pollution, lower temperatures, and offer residents more places to relax. The ongoing expansion of green areas aims to enhance Dubai’s urban environment. With more planted sidewalks, landscaped roads, and public gardens, the city expects long-term benefits for both residents and visitors. The projects align with Dubai’s vision of sustainable, liveable development.
