Couple Celebrates Anniversary with a Wave Stone Legacy in Kamp-Lintfort

To commemorate their 2020 wedding, Samira and Johannes Emmerichs had a so-called wave stone embedded in the meadow landscape, with Kamp-Lintfort's deputy mayor, Barbara Drese, in attendance.

Introduced in 2013, these wave stones have become a permanent feature of the town's Wandelweg (Path of Reflection). For €200, residents can purchase and design a custom natural stone slab shaped like a wave, which is then set flush into the meadow. Each stone is engraved with a personal inscription—often a meaningful date, such as a wedding anniversary.

The Emmerichs couple also chose this unique way to preserve their memories. Their wave stone not only immortalizes their own story but also contributes to the beauty of this historic site.

In addition, the couple has already reserved the first fruit tree on the new Hochzeitswiese (Wedding Meadow), which will be planted along the Path of Reflection this coming autumn. With this gesture, they are planting another sustainable symbol of their shared future in Kamp-Lintfort.

Residents interested in purchasing a wave stone can place an order through the city's Civil Engineering and Green Spaces Office.
