Free Wildflower Seeds Dispensed by Repurposed Vending Machines in Eco-Friendly Initiative
They used to be gumball machines—now, as seed vending machines, they dispense small capsules filled with wildflower seeds.
The two machines, installed at the Heidgesberg and Luisental recycling centers, aim to give visitors an easy way to create flowering meadows in their own neighborhoods, helping protect bees, bumblebees, and other insects.
The project, titled "MeadowMagic – Flower Seed Vending Machine," is part of the anniversary campaign by mags and GEM. The seed capsules are free of charge. To ensure as many people as possible can benefit, mags asks that each person take only one capsule.
Here's how MeadowMagic works: Each capsule contains a mix of regional wildflower seeds. When sown in spring, they grow into a vibrant meadow by autumn, providing food and habitat for insects.
Important: Return the empty plastic capsule to the recycling center or dispose of it in the bin!
