Dorda promotes five lawyers, with four women in leadership roles
This year's partner and counsel promotions at law firm Dorda see five advancements in IP/IT, dispute resolution, banking and labor law, and private wealth.
Alexandra Ciarnau, Philip Exenberger, and Katrin Repic have been appointed partners, according to a statement from Dorda. Meanwhile, Katharina Binder, co-head of the newly established Private Wealth Group, and Florina Thenmayer, a labor law specialist, join as counsel, further strengthening the firm's core advisory areas.
The New Partners
Alexandra Ciarnau (IP/IT and Data Protection) advises clients on emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and serves as co-head of the Digital Industries Group. She is also a co-editor of ailex, the first interdisciplinary journal on AI law and technology published by Manz, and president of Women in AI Austria.
Philip Exenberger (Dispute Resolution) represents clients in complex domestic and cross-border disputes, with a focus on international arbitration, construction and infrastructure projects, and transport law. He is a member of the AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers) and the Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP).
Katrin Repic (Banking and Regulatory Law) brings her regulatory expertise from her previous roles as a banking supervisor at the Financial Market Authority and the European Central Bank. She advises credit institutions, financial services providers, and fintechs on banking supervision, outsourcing, DORA compliance, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and broader compliance matters.
The New Counsel
Katharina Binder, co-head of the Private Wealth Group, specializes in succession planning, private foundations, and family businesses. She advises entrepreneurs, families, and high-net-worth individuals on succession, asset structuring, governance models, and international inheritance and matrimonial property law. A graduate of Fordham University's LL.M. program (cum laude), she was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2012.
Florina Thenmayer (Labor Law) spent two years practicing in London before qualifying as a lawyer in Austria in 2019 and as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2021 (currently non-practicing). Drawing on her international background, she provides pragmatic, solution-oriented advice on all aspects of individual and collective labor law.
