Residents can drop off or pick up these and many other items at the swap meet—a kind of small flea market, completely free of charge.

Under the Circular Economy Act, the goal is to extend the useful life of products for as long as possible. In practice, this means that everyday items, for example, are not discarded but instead reused or repaired, prolonging their lifespan and keeping them in circulation.

The first swap meet of the year will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on the premises of Rheinberg's municipal services department (DienstLeistungsBetrieb der Stadt Rheinberg), at Bahnhofstraße 160. Seven more dates will follow—see the waste collection calendar on page 4 for details. Parking will be available on-site.
