Brother Marcus Opens Third London Location at Borough Yards

Eastern Mediterranean all-day restaurant Brother Marcus have opened their third site at the newly developed Borough Yards by London Bridge, featuring an interior rich with a profusion of natural elements.

The space was designed by Sophie Finch of Finch Interiors, who said: "We decided on a calm, warm and friendly vibe with a biopihillic design, bringing vegetation to the exterior and interior spaces of the building providing a direct relationship to nature."

The restaurant, which can seat 90 indoors and 16 outside, features an open kitchen with a robata grill. Vibrant green planting fills the interior, surrounding the open kitchen area and light floods in through floor-to-ceiling windows during the day.

Similar in look and feel to their other sites, Brother Marcus Borough Yards lightens the industrial elements of the building's structure with a contemporary Mediterranean style; stonewashed walls, terracotta tiles, warm earthy colours, rattan textures and jars of pickled vegetables.

Design highlights include an overhead pergola, cascading greenery and rattan pendant shades, wishbone chairs and glossy marble tables.

Brother Marcus was created by three best friends, Arthur, Alex and Tasos in 2016. Having travelled the region extensively to experience the food, drink and culture first-hand, and using recipes passed down from Tas' Cretan ancestors, Brother Marcus brings an authentic and delicious experience and ambience to their customers.

The eatery was named after Alex's legendary little brother Marcus, who makes friends with just about anyone - and the restaurant is geared to guests having a good time and feeling like part of the family as soon as they walk through the door.

With Borough Market across the street, the guests will be served food made with the freshest ingredients and produce bought direct from the market.

Known across the capital for their sharing plates and famed brunches, Brother Marcus Borough Yards is no different starting off with brunch, coffee and homemade baked goods before moving into small plates, cocktails and wine, come evening.

Dishes on the evening menu at Borough Yards include scallops with anchovy butter, coriander cream and crispy capers; Aleppo seared king prawns with garlic butter and caramelised kasundi; BBQ pork skewers with labneh and hazelnut dukkha, and kataifi lamb croquettes with garlic yoghurt and burnt harissa butter.

Brother Marcus also has sites in Spitalfields Market and Angel's picturesque Camden Passage.
