Vladivostok's May 23 events blend culture, family fun and history
Vladivostok will host a variety of cultural and educational events on May 23. Families, teens, and history enthusiasts will find activities tailored to their interests. Registration is required for some events due to limited space. At the Chekhov Central Library, a family game called A Teen’s Path to Independence and Success will take place. Marina Piskareva, a family systems consultant and career guidance expert, will lead the session. Teens aged 13 to 17 and their parents will work together on setting personal goals, improving communication, and creating action plans. Parents will also learn strategies to reduce anxiety and better support their children’s ambitions.
The Primorsky Aquarium will hold the Green Market, an event for houseplant lovers. Visitors can expand their collections, exchange tips, and join workshops for both children and adults. Meanwhile, the Primorsky Regional State Archive will mark the 125th anniversary of Vladivostok Customs with a lecture. Natalia Beliaeva, a history professor from Far Eastern Federal University, will explore the institution’s past. Attendance is free, but seats must be booked in advance by phone. A separate musical programme, *Thumbelina*, will be performed by Philharmonic artists at an unspecified date. The production follows Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, chronicling the adventures of a tiny girl who overcomes challenges and finds friendship in the Swallow.
The events offer opportunities for learning, creativity, and community engagement. Registration is necessary for the family game and the history lecture due to space constraints. Organisers encourage early sign-ups to secure a place.
