Klaus Christ's Metamorphoses Transforms Hünfeld's Art Scene with Nature-Inspired Sculptures
The Museum Modern Art Hünfeld is now hosting Metamorphoses, a new exhibition by sculptor Klaus Christ. Based in Nentershausen-Süß, Christ explores nature’s creative power and the shifting forms of life. His latest show has already drawn strong interest from visitors. The exhibition opened to a packed crowd, filling the museum’s spaces with Christ’s striking works. For the first time, his sculptural studies occupy the circular gallery, while larger installations spread across the two gasometers. The ground floor of the main building displays pieces in alabaster, travertine, wood, and plaster, showcasing the artist’s range of materials.
Alongside the exhibition, Christ will lead a two-day sculpture workshop on June 20–21. Participants will pay €160, plus an additional €4 for each kilogram of stone used. The following morning, an art breakfast will take place within the show, though guests must register in advance. *Metamorphoses* remains on view until the end of August, offering visitors weeks to experience Christ’s transformative vision.
The exhibition brings together Christ’s diverse materials and themes under one roof. With workshops and events planned, the museum provides multiple ways to engage with his work. The show’s run until late August gives both locals and travellers time to explore his artistic approach.
