Bangsar's New Ffp Hair Salon Blends 90s Nostalgia with Modern Craftsmanship

A new hair salon has arrived in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Ffp Hair Salon opened its doors along Jalan Telawi, offering a fresh take on the traditional salon experience. Founded by veteran stylist Brandon Ng, the space blends modern design with nostalgic touches from the 1990s. Brandon Ng began his career in 2003 after training at The Hair Forum by Rever Hong Kong (Malaysia). Over the years, he honed his skills in salons across Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, and Singapore. His time as a colour technician with Keune Haircosmetics in Singapore further shaped his expertise.

Ffp Hair Salon spans 1,600 sq ft, mixing Japanese-inspired aesthetics with the warmth of old-school barbershops. The name, Ffp, comes from the Cantonese term '飛髮', a nod to Ng’s childhood memories of local Chinese and Indian barbers. The salon also uses premium Japanese products, including Milbon. Unlike fast-paced salons, Ffp positions itself as a 'slow salon'. The concept encourages both clients and stylists to take their time, fostering a more thoughtful experience. Ng sees the space as a creative platform where hairstylists can develop their own unique styles. Bangsar marks the first location for the Ffp brand. Ng has shared plans to expand the concept in the future.

Ffp Hair Salon now welcomes clients in Bangsar with its relaxed approach and distinctive design. The salon’s focus on craftsmanship and creativity sets it apart in Kuala Lumpur’s beauty scene. With Japanese professional products and a nod to 90s nostalgia, it offers a fresh alternative to traditional hairdressing.
