London's Sloane Club reopens after a bold heritage-meets-modern revival

The Sloane Club, a historic London institution founded in 1920, is undergoing a major renovation to modernise its facilities. Work began in January 2024 and will transform the 18th-century building on Lower Sloane Street by late summer. The project focuses on upgrading 66 bedrooms and public areas while keeping disruption to members at a minimum. The guestrooms now feature a mid-century design, blending comfort with a touch of vintage elegance.

On the lower ground floor, a new wellness centre has taken shape. It includes a gym, studio, infrared sauna, and treatment rooms. Nearby, a dedicated co-working space called The Study provides high-speed internet and soundproof phone booths. The renovation also improves connections between indoor and outdoor spaces. A highlight is Lila, a restaurant with a retractable glass roof that opened in summer 2025. The venue offers a dining experience inspired by nature. 3 Interiors oversaw the fit-out, with Timbermark Manufacture crafting bespoke joinery pieces for the project.

The updated club now offers enhanced facilities for members, from wellness areas to co-working spaces. The restoration preserves the building’s heritage while introducing modern comforts and improved connectivity.
