Astana Library Launches Eco-Exhibition on Water Conservation and Endangered Species

Astana’s Mass Library No. 6 has launched a new book exhibition focused on ecology and water conservation. The display highlights the critical role of clean waterways, particularly in spring, when environmental awareness campaigns gain momentum. Visitors can explore a range of materials dedicated to preserving natural resources and protecting endangered species. The exhibition features a diverse collection of books, periodicals, and informational resources. Among the items on show are the Red Book of endangered species, publications on Kazakhstan’s natural landscapes, and works addressing land and water management. These materials aim to underscore water’s importance as the foundation of life.

Interactive formats have been introduced to engage younger audiences in ecological discussions. The library regularly organises sessions for all age groups, from preschoolers to seniors, ensuring broad participation. Raushan Serikbayeva, head of Mass Library No. 6, stressed the institution’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives. The event aligns with two national campaigns: *Taza Qazaqstan* ('Clean Kazakhstan') and *Möldır bulaq* ('Clear Spring'). By drawing public attention to water source conservation, the exhibition seeks to promote responsible attitudes towards natural resources.

The library’s initiative reinforces the need for environmental awareness and sustainable practices. Through books, discussions, and interactive activities, the exhibition encourages visitors to take an active role in protecting waterways. The campaign will continue as part of wider efforts to safeguard Kazakhstan’s natural heritage.
