Meiningen's Young Stars Shine in a Free Circus Spectacle Next Spring
A colourful circus spectacle is coming to Meiningen next spring. From May 18 to 21, 2025, the 1st East German Project Circus André Sperlich will set up its tent at the Dolmarstraße sports field. Children from local schools and kindergartens will take centre stage in a free public performance called Tina’s Dreamland. The project brings together pupils from Ludwig Chronegk Primary School and Werrahüpfer im Park Kindergarten. Under the guidance of professional circus trainers, the young performers will develop acrobatic, clowning, and balancing skills. The initiative also focuses on teamwork and confidence-building, blending physical training with social learning.
The grand finale will feature two daily shows on May 20 and 21 at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Admission is free for the participating pupils, thanks to sponsorship from local businesses and organisations. The circus, founded in 2000, has spent over two decades refining its educational approach, becoming Germany’s leading provider in the field. Since 2020, the company has toured with *Tina’s Dreamland*, a whimsical production designed to spark children’s creativity. The project not only relieves teachers of instructional duties but also ensures safe, high-quality training for all participants.
The event marks the culmination of a week-long workshop where children transform into performers. Their skills will be on full display during the public shows. After the final curtain, the circus will pack up and move on, leaving behind a community of youngsters with newfound talents and memories.
