Kennywood Honors Two Employees With a Combined Century of Service

Kennywood amusement park has recognised two of its longest-serving employees for their dedication. Larry Russ and Bobby Trygar have worked at the park for a combined century. Both began their careers there nearly 50 years ago.

Russ and Trygar started at Kennywood in 1976. Russ first worked at the Big Apple dart game before moving into security. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, serving as corporal, lieutenant, chief, and finally captain.

Trygar focused on maintaining some of the park’s most famous rides. His work included the Racer, Log Jammer, and the historic Merry-Go-Round. While working on the Racer, he met his future wife, who also worked at the attraction.

The two employees were honoured for their decades of service. Their combined experience spans 100 years at the West Mifflin park. The recognition highlights their lasting impact on Kennywood’s operations and community.
