German Red Cross Day unites community with fun and first aid
The German Red Cross (DRK) is hosting its annual DRK Day on Sunday, May 10, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The event will celebrate Inclusion Day and World Red Cross Day, bringing together the community for an afternoon of activities and learning. Visitors can explore a rescue transport vehicle (RTW) and speak with the disaster relief team about their work. The team will have their vehicles on site, ready to answer questions from curious attendees.
For children, the event offers face painting, a carousel, and a creative workshop where they can craft their own musical instruments. These handmade instruments will be used later in the day during activities. The Youth Red Cross will also run a Teddy Bear Ambulance, giving young visitors a fun way to learn about first aid. A first-aid station will provide practical demonstrations, teaching essential skills to those interested. Entertainment will include performances by dance and judo groups from the Family Relief Service (FED). The band *Rock Meets Soul* will take the stage, inviting everyone to dance and sing along. The event aims to promote solidarity and diversity, offering something for all ages and interests.
The DRK Day combines education, entertainment, and community engagement. Attendees will leave with new skills, experiences, and a stronger connection to the Red Cross mission. The event remains free and open to the public.
