Akmola triumphs in Bes Asyl's folk art qualifying round in Kökşetau

The qualifying round of the Bes Asyl national folk art competition took place in Kökşetau this week. Teams from Akmola and Atyrau regions competed in traditional Kazakh genres, including aitys, küi, zhyr, terme, and folk music. The event aimed to revive and protect the country’s oral musical and literary traditions. The Akmola team, led by Arman Berdalin, secured victory and advanced to the next stage. His group included Erlan Daulet, Mukhamed Konkaev, Alibek Sergaliyev, and Kurmet Kuralkhan. Meanwhile, the Atyrau team was headed by Saadat Nurmanov, with members Serikbol Panaberdiv, Batyrzhan Kadirbay, Yernur Isakhayev, and Salauat Karimuly.

Amanzhol Altaev hosted the competition, while the jury was chaired by Zhursin Yerman, a National Writer of Kazakhstan. The event brought together top performers from both regions, showcasing their skills in traditional folk arts.

The Akmola team will now move forward in the Bes Asyl competition. Their success highlights the ongoing efforts to preserve Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage. The next stage will feature even more performances from the country’s leading folk artists.
