Kazakhstan's Plant a Tree for Nature Unites Thousands for Greener Future

As part of the Clean Kazakhstan (Taza Qazaqstan) environmental campaign, a nationwide eco-challenge called Plant a Tree for Nature (Tabığatqa ağash egu) took place simultaneously across all regions of the country. The initiative has grown into a large-scale environmental movement aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility for the environment among the younger generation, Liter.kz reports.

Educational institutions across Kazakhstan have declared April a month of Diligence and Professionalism, featuring a series of republican events, including International Children's Book Day, International Day for Monuments and Sites, National Book Day, and other activities. These initiatives seek to encourage reading among students, promote acts of kindness, and cultivate ecological awareness and a respectful attitude toward nature. Additionally, as part of the Plant a Tree for Nature campaign, efforts are underway to improve and clean up school grounds and public spaces.

The tree-planting eco-challenge has become an annual tradition, now in its fourth consecutive year, involving educational institutions nationwide.

This year, over 100,000 ninth- and eleventh-grade students took part in the campaign, planting trees on school grounds, in parks, and in public areas—contributing to urban greening and ecological balance.

Notably, on April 25, students from the Future Schools (Keleшек Mektepteri) project also joined a community cleanup, further supporting environmental conservation efforts.
