Krasnodar Mayor Joins Rescheduled Citywide Cleanup
Krasnodar's cleanup marathon plants 180 trees and revitalizes public spaces
KRASNODAR, April 29 — Yug Times. Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Naumov today took part in a citywide cleanup alongside residents, colleagues, and fellow party members. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the event was moved to Wednesday due to poor weather conditions. Naumov thanked all who joined the initiative.
During the cleanup, volunteers tidied up the alley along Lapérouse Street, collecting litter—bottles, bags, and food packaging—left by passersby. They also cleared overgrown thorny acacia along the road and sidewalk, creating more space and sunlight for newly planted trees.
As part of this spring's compensatory greening efforts, plane trees were planted in the area, which have already taken root and begun sprouting their first leaves. More plantings are planned soon, with a total of 180 new plane trees set to line the alley.
"The sanitation marathon began two months ago," Naumov wrote in his Telegram channel. "Residents and work teams have been cleaning up courtyards, city streets, forest belts, green zones, and memorials, as well as planting trees. Thank you to everyone who took part!"
Earlier, Yug Times reported that Krasnodar would hold a citywide cleanup on April 29.
