Lenzmarkt Kicks Off the Planting Season for Many in Bremen

Bremen's Lenzmarkt Returns May 10 with Plants, Crafts and Free Entry

For years, the Lenzmarkt has marked the start of the planting season for countless residents of Bremen. On Sunday, May 10, 2026—Mother's Day—the event will celebrate its 21st edition around Speicher XI in the Überseestadt district, inviting visitors to stroll, browse, and shop. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., around 80 exhibitors will showcase their offerings. Admission is free.

The Lenzmarkt has everything needed to embrace the spirit of spring: plants of all kinds, culinary delights for every palate, and an array of decorative treasures to brighten up daily life. This year, as always, the focus is on all things green and blooming, with roughly 200 meters of market space dedicated exclusively to flowers and plants. Whether you're looking to beautify a balcony, terrace, or garden—or simply enjoy a charming Sunday in a unique setting—the Lenzmarkt is the place to be.

From Mother's Day Gifts to Herb Workshops

Among the standout exhibitors is Loxstedt's Bottke Ceramics Workshop, whose vibrant ceramic flowers have been a market highlight for years. These ever-blooming beauties bring lasting color to homes and gardens—and make perfect Mother's Day gifts.

Also joining the lineup is "Herb Barbara" Andrea Buckmann from Schwanewede, bringing a wide selection of herbs along with expert advice on cultivation, harvesting, and culinary uses. For those eager to dive deeper, the trained phytotherapist offers workshops and seminars covering herbs and wild plants in detail.

Well-known far beyond the region are siblings Björn and Inga True from Stuhr, recently named "Best Weekly Market Traders of 2025" by the German Federation of Fresh Markets. At the Lenzmarkt, they'll present a vast assortment of tomato plants, bedding plants, and balcony greenery—most of it homegrown.

A Perfect Day Out for the Whole Family

Beyond plants and gardening inspiration, the Lenzmarkt offers much more: a rich selection of handcrafted decor, gourmet products like oils, jams, and chutneys, and a variety of food trucks and stalls catering to every culinary craving. The event promises a diverse and enjoyable outing for families. The unique blend of market atmosphere and carefully curated offerings has been its enduring appeal for years.

Getting There and Visitor Info

Public transportation is recommended—Speicher XI is easily accessible via tram line 3 and bus lines 26 and 28. Drivers will find free parking at the adjacent wholesale market, while cyclists can take advantage of ample bike racks. Admission to the Lenzmarkt is free.
