A Lifetime of Passion: Inside Francisco Costa's Rare Vintage Car Collection

For over 40 years, Francisco Costa has built an extraordinary collection of vintage vehicles. His passion began with a single car at just 20 years old and has since grown into a treasure trove of automotive history. Now, he’s opening his private warehouse to share these meticulously restored machines with the public.

Costa’s journey started with a Peugeot 403, the oldest car in his collection. That first purchase sparked a lifelong dedication to preserving classic vehicles. Over the decades, he expanded his holdings to include more than 600 motorcycles and 20 cars, each one carefully restored to its original condition.

One of his most notable acquisitions is a 1961 Porsche. He obtained it 35 years ago in an unusual trade—swapping an apartment in Esposende for the iconic sports car. Every vehicle in his collection has been painstakingly refurbished, ensuring they look and run as they did when first built. To house his growing collection, Costa recently purchased a warehouse in Montalegre. He’s named it the 'Warehouse of Memories' and occasionally invites the public to explore the rare and restored machines. The space serves as both a museum and a testament to his decades of dedication.

The 'Warehouse of Memories' now stands as a showcase of automotive craftsmanship and history. Costa’s collection, from the 1961 Porsche to the Peugeot 403, reflects his commitment to preservation. Visitors can see these vehicles in their original glory, each one a piece of the past brought back to life.
