Young Carnival Royals Donate 720 Chocolate Bars to Local Food Bank
The children's prince and princess of the Mönchengladbach Carnival Association have made a sweet gesture ahead of the celebrations. Annick I and Luis I donated 720 chocolate tablets to the Mönchengladbach Food Bank. Their gift ensures that children in need can join in the carnival fun without missing out.
The young royals toured the food bank's facilities before handing over their donation. A former mayor of Mönchengladbach guided them through the storage areas, showing them refrigerators for perishables and the tables where food is sorted for distribution. After the visit, both Annick I and Luis I thanked the volunteers for their hard work. Luis I even announced plans to return during his school's career exploration day to help out.
Monika Bartsch, who chairs the food bank, accepted the chocolate on behalf of the families they support. She explained that the donation would be shared on the bank's two distribution days, Tuesday and Thursday. With enough treats for all children in those households, the gift will bring a bit of carnival joy to many.
Sven Frauenkron of Volksbank im Rheinland also praised the initiative. He highlighted the bank's ongoing support for local solidarity projects and social volunteering. Bartsch added that the donation reflects the strong community spirit in Mönchengladbach, where people consistently step up when help is needed.
The 720 chocolate tablets will be given to children during the food bank's weekly distributions. The donation comes just in time for carnival, ensuring no child goes without a treat. Both the young royals and local supporters hope their effort will encourage others to contribute to similar causes.
