Yekaterinburg's Pushkin Street to Become a Green Pedestrian Haven by 2026

Yekaterinburg is set to transform Pushkin Street into a green, pedestrian-friendly space by 2026. The project will reduce the road from four lanes to two, adding bike paths and greenery along the way. Officials estimate the redesign will cost up to 300 million rubles. The Pushkin Street overhaul will stretch from Lenin Avenue to Malyshev. Once finished, it will link to key areas like Popov Park, the Literary Quarter, and the green space near Kosmos cinema and the Church on the Blood. First Deputy Mayor Rustam Galyamov will lead the project, with work starting and completing in 2026.

Meanwhile, Vayner Street, the city's main pedestrian route, will also see reconstruction this year. The plans follow designs finalised in 2021–2022. This marks the first major update to the street in 23 years.

The Pushkin Street redesign aims to create a more walkable and cyclist-friendly area. The 300-million-ruble investment will reshape the street's function while connecting it to nearby parks and cultural sites. Vayner Street's upcoming renovation will further modernise Yekaterinburg's central pedestrian zones.
