Yekaterinburg blooms with 45,000 sqm of vibrant flower beds this year

Yekaterinburg is set to brighten its streets with more than 45,000 square metres of flower beds this year. The city has allocated over 70 million rubles to plant and maintain the displays, ensuring vibrant public spaces throughout the seasons.

The new flower beds will cover an area larger than 5.5 hectares, spread across parks, streets, and municipal buildings. Officials have chosen hardy species suited to the Ural climate, including crocuses, petunias, and marigolds. Other varieties like salvia, balsam, begonias, and cineraria will also feature in the designs.

The city funds this annual project as part of its urban beautification programme. Seasonal upkeep, from planting to regular maintenance, will be carried out with the allocated budget. While exact figures for past years are not publicly detailed, the initiative remains a consistent investment in Yekaterinburg's green infrastructure.

Residents and visitors can expect colourful displays across Yekaterinburg in the coming months. The 70 million ruble budget will cover both planting and ongoing care, ensuring the flower beds thrive until autumn. The selection of climate-resistant plants aims to keep the city's public areas lively and well-kept.
