Garden Realm Dessau-Wörlitz to be further developed - Wörlitz’s Yellow Villa to Become a UNESCO Heritage Visitor Hub

The State School Authority has revealed that the Otto von Guericke Foundation will back a significant renovation project in Wörlitz. The Yellow Villa will be transformed into a UNESCO World Heritage visitor center, with the Oranienbaum and Mosigkau Palace complexes also set for restoration. The project, costing 2.3 million euros, is part of a larger initiative to expand and enhance the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom UNESCO site, with €4.3 million approved for these projects.

The Yellow Villa in Wörlitz, a historic landmark, will undergo a facelift and be repurposed as a visitor center for the UNESCO World Heritage site. This will provide a hub for tourists to learn about the site's rich history and significance.

The Oranienbaum and Mosigkau Palace complexes, also key components of the Garden Kingdom, will receive much-needed restoration work. This will help preserve these architectural gems and ensure they remain accessible to the public.

The Otto von Guericke Foundation's grant of 2.3 million euros, combined with the €4.3 million in public funding, will support the conservation and enhancement of these important historical sites. The project aims to attract more visitors, boost local tourism, and preserve the unique cultural heritage of the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom UNESCO site.
