Wingify and AB Tasty merge to form a $500M SaaS optimization giant

Two major players in digital optimisation have joined forces to create a $500 million SaaS company. Wingify, the Delhi-based firm behind Visual Website Optimizer (VWO), merged with French rival AB Tasty in late January. The deal combines nearly $120 million in revenue and a global customer base of around 4,000.

Wingify was founded in 2009 by Paras Chopra and Sparsh Gupta. Within 18 months, the company hit $1 million in annual recurring revenue. By early 2025, it had grown to $50 million in ARR, leading to a $200 million acquisition by private equity firm Everstone Capital.

Under Everstone, Wingify maintained steady operations without major restructuring. In December 2025, it acquired Blitzllama, its first purchase. The AB Tasty merger followed shortly after, uniting two platforms with complementary strengths. AB Tasty's focus on European markets and advanced feature sets paired well with VWO's global reach and conversion optimisation tools.

Before the merger, Wingify's customer base was split across India and Asia (40%), North America (30%), and Europe (20%). AB Tasty, meanwhile, drew 60% of its clients from Europe, particularly France, with 25% in North America. Post-merger, the combined entity now serves a broader audience: 45% in North America, 35% in Europe, and 15% in APAC. The fastest growth, however, is coming from Latin America (up 120% since 2023) and the Middle East and Africa (up 90%), driven by rising e-commerce demand.

Sparsh Gupta sees AI as an opportunity rather than a threat. He believes it will make platforms like VWO more powerful and user-friendly. Yet, the company faces challenges from in-house AI tools and emerging technologies like vibe coding.

The merger creates a stronger player in the SaaS optimisation market, with a wider geographical footprint and expanded product offerings. Cross-selling opportunities between AB Tasty and VWO are expected to drive further growth. Meanwhile, India's SaaS sector continues its rapid expansion, projected to reach $70 billion in valuation by 2030.
