Wine festival and pottery market to be held in Halle during October 2025

The third weekend of October 2025 will see a delightful fusion of wine and pottery in the charming city of Halle, Germany. The 1st Halle Wine Festival and the traditional Halle Pottery Market will take place simultaneously, offering visitors a unique opportunity to savour fine wines and admire exquisite ceramics.

The Wine Festival, located on the Market Square, will welcome 15 winemakers and merchants, predominantly from the Saale-Unstrut/ Freyburg-Unstrut region. The event kicks off on Friday, 17th October, from 4 pm to 9 pm, and continues over the weekend until Sunday, 19th October. On Saturday, the festival's hours extend from 10 am to 9 pm, and on Sunday, from 11 am to 6 pm.

Visitors can enjoy hearty dishes, sweet treats, and snacks from some winemakers, while the Halle Specialty Brewery will serve beer for those preferring a non-wine beverage. There will also be musical swing/jazz performances on a small stage to add to the festive atmosphere. Coffee variations will be available throughout the festival.

For those with an appreciation for ceramics, the Halle Pottery Market on the east side of the Market Square will be a must-visit. The market, which has gained regional significance, will showcase around 90 professional ceramic workshops, offering a wide variety of techniques, colours, shapes, and surfaces.

The Halle Pottery Market will be open on Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, on Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm. It's worth noting that the Pottery Market's hours on Saturday do not overlap with the Wine Festival's closing hours, ensuring visitors can enjoy both events without missing out. Similarly, the Pottery Market's hours on Sunday start one hour after the Wine Festival's closing hours, allowing visitors to explore the Pottery Market after the Wine Festival's conclusion.

During the same weekend, the traditional Halle Pottery Market will also take place. Visitors can browse and purchase ceramics while enjoying the lively atmosphere. The Pottery Market's hours on Saturday, 18th October, will end two hours before the Halle Wine Festival's closing hours, ensuring a smooth transition between the two events.

Whether you're a wine connoisseur, a ceramics enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun weekend outing, the coinciding Halle Wine Festival and Halle Pottery Market promise an unforgettable experience in October 2025. Don't forget to bring a chair or two, as tables and chairs will be provided for visitors to stay awhile and enjoy the festivities.
