Windsor's First Community Garden Opens for Registration in 2026
Windsor, Colorado, is launching its first community garden in 2026. The Homestead Community Garden, located at the Historic Halfway Homestead, will offer residents a chance to grow their own plants. Registration for plots opens on Friday, February 6.
The garden sits at 335 McNeil Drive, providing space for vegetables, flowers, and small fruits. Plots come in two types: raised beds for £36 per season and in-ground beds for £96. Water, irrigation, soil, and basic tools will be available on-site, along with seasonal workshops.
Applications are handled by Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture. Registration runs from February 6 to March 27, with plots assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The programme welcomes gardeners of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced growers.
Organisers aim to promote local food awareness, outdoor activity, and neighbourhood connections. No details have been released yet on the total number of garden beds available in this first season.
The garden's opening marks a new opportunity for Windsor residents to engage in gardening. Those interested can sign up online starting February 6. The project encourages community involvement while supporting sustainable food practices.
