Wildeshausen Youth Fire Brigade Celebrates Record Achievements in 2025

The Wildeshausen Youth Fire Brigade held its annual general meeting in early 2025, showcasing a year of strong achievements and growth. With 27 young members, including ten girls, the group demonstrated its commitment to training, teamwork, and community service. The evening also highlighted the brigade's success in earning top certifications and organizing regional events.

The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. in the assembly hall, led by youth fire brigade leader Kai Strömer. Members reviewed the year's accomplishments, including the completion of the Jugendflamme Level 1 certification, a key milestone for young firefighters. The group also secured the Leistungsspange—the highest honor in the German Youth Fire Brigade—during a competition in Sandkrug.

In addition to training, the brigade hosted a sports event for youth fire brigades across Oldenburg District. Their efforts drew praise from the district youth fire brigade coordinator, who commended their creative approach and confident leadership. Maja van den Berg was also recognized with the Lower Saxony Youth Fire Brigade's Badge of Honor for her exceptional social contributions.

The brigade's long-term impact was clear: since its founding, 40 former members have transitioned into active emergency service roles. At the meeting, the group presented itself as a united, high-performing team with a clear vision for the future.

The Wildeshausen Youth Fire Brigade closed its annual meeting on a high note, having strengthened its reputation for excellence in 2025. With new certifications, successful events, and dedicated members, the group remains a vital part of the local emergency response network. Their work continues to inspire young firefighters in the region.
