Wiesbaden’s Towering Christmas Tree Kicks Off the Holiday Season in Style
Wiesbaden is set to kick off the Christmas season with the erection of its grand Christmas tree on Wednesday, November 12. The 25- to 30-meter spruce from Weilmunster will take center stage at Schlossplatz 6, in front of City Hall, blending sustainability, charm, and tradition.
The tree, adorned with 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights, golden ribbons, and eco-friendly decorations, is a testament to Wiesbaden's commitment to climate protection. The spruce is expected to arrive late Tuesday night and will be hoisted into place and lowered into its prepared, water-filled base on Wednesday morning. The ceremony will commence at 9:45 a.m., with Mayor Christiane Hinninger giving the tree its name, inspired by the most popular baby name registered at Wiesbaden’s civil registry this year. Germany’s Christmas Tree Queen, Sarah Neßhöfer, and three of Wiesbaden’s Lilchen will join the event, making it a brilliant kickoff to the season. All residents are warmly invited to attend. The tree will be fully decorated by November 24 and unveiled at the opening of the Sternschnuppenmarkt on Wednesday, November 25.
Wiesbaden's Christmas tree, a symbol of the city's commitment to sustainability and tradition, will stand tall and proud throughout the festive season. Its erection marks the official start of the holiday celebrations, bringing joy and warmth to all residents and visitors alike.
