Wiesbaden's Luisenplatz Welcomes New Petanque Court

Wiesbaden residents can now enjoy petanque in the heart of the city. A new court has opened on Luisenplatz, offering two lanes for the public to play, free of charge. The installation is part of a project aiming to revitalize city centers through creative, temporary measures.

The petanque court, inaugurated next to the Waterloo monument, is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. No prior knowledge of the game is needed to participate. Balls are available for free via an app. The project was a collaboration between the city management, parks department, and engaged clubs, including La Pétanque d'Auringen e.V. It was funded by the federal program 'Future-Proof Cities and Centers'. The initiative was sparked by requests from Wiesbaden residents.

The petanque lanes on Luisenplatz are open for all to enjoy, promoting social interaction and urban revitalization. The project demonstrates the city's commitment to responding to residents' requests and fostering a vibrant city center.
