Waldkirch’s New Year’s Reception Returns with Awards and Performances on January 23
Waldkirch will hold its annual New Year’s Reception on January 23, 2026. The public event will take place at the town’s municipal hall, starting at 6:30 p.m. Guests can expect live performances, awards, and a chance to meet local organisations.
The evening will begin with a welcome speech by Mayor Michael Schmieder. After his address, Thomas Kern will take over as host for the rest of the programme.
Among the highlights, the Waldkirch Cultural Prize will be awarded, though the 2026 winner has not yet been announced. Outstanding citizens will also be recognised for their contributions to the community. The Talent Academy of Europa-Park will then perform, accompanied by musicians from the Buchholz Music Association. Attendees can explore displays by the Waldkirch Volunteer Fire Department, showcasing their work. A standing reception will follow, giving guests the opportunity to socialise. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Each person may collect up to two from Waldkirch City Hall or the district offices in Kollnau and Buchholz.
The reception will bring together residents, performers, and local groups for an evening of celebration. Free tickets are available now, with performances and awards set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on January 23.
