Vladivostok's Kutuzov Square launched under the national initiative "Infrastructure for Life" project.
In the vibrant city of Vladivostok, a new public space has become a beacon of community spirit and modern urban design. Kutuzov Square, opened in September 2025, has quickly become a favourite gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.
The square's striking red colour is a nod to its neighbour, Kutuzov Park, and serves as a poignant reference to historical military moments, as stated by Anastasia Lakida, deputy director of "Zelyony Vladivostok" for construction.
With more than 20,000 votes in support of the project, it's clear that the community has embraced this new addition to their city.
A Space for All Ages
Kutuzov Square offers something for everyone. For the young ones, there are children's playground zones equipped with small architectural forms and slides organized on existing slopes. Adults can relax on comfortable benches in the shade, while children play in the nearby playgrounds.
The square's design also includes walking areas, relaxation zones with canopies and swings, and areas with pine greenery, creating a harmonious blend of nature and urban life. The walking zones feature cobblestone and stone paving, adding a touch of elegance to the space.
Safety First
Safety is a top priority at Kutuzov Square. Lighting and video surveillance will be installed on the improvement site to ensure the well-being of all visitors.
A Collaborative Effort
The renovation of Kutuzov Square was part of the "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" federal project under the "Infrastructure for Life" national project. The extended implementation of national projects until 2030, with the support of President Vladimir Putin, made the project possible.
Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kojemjako participated in the opening of Kutuzov Square and expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their votes.
Public observers monitored all stages of the renovation work on Kutuzov Square to ensure transparency and quality.
A Community's Pride
Margarita Petrovna, a local resident, expressed her satisfaction with the developed zone of Kutuzov Square. She noted that it is convenient for her granddaughter to play in the playground and for her to relax on a bench in the shade.
Photos of Kutuzov Square were taken by Igor Novikov (Government of Primorsky Krai).
As Kutuzov Square continues to thrive, it stands as a testament to the power of community involvement and the transformative potential of urban renewal projects.
