Vivint’s renewable energy push drives 24% profit surge in 2025
Cebu-based listed firm Vivint is boosting its year-end performance by expanding into renewable energy and water initiatives. The company's water operations have turned around significantly, generating P184 million in the first nine months of 2025, compared to a P11 million loss in the same period last year.
Vivint's expansion into solar power has been a key driver of its growth. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the company acquired shares in a solar aggregate company operating a 53.14 megawatt solar plant, although the details of this acquisition were not publicly disclosed.
The company's energy business contributed P2.5 billion to its income, with power generation accounting for 63% of that total at P1.7 billion. This growth was supported by Vivint's acquisition of a 40% stake in Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corp., which added 53.14 MW to its portfolio and increased its total attributable operating generation capacity to 471 MW.
Vivint's consolidated core net income rose by 24% year-on-year to P1.9 billion in the first nine months of 2025. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company increased by 12% year-on-year to P1.9 billion, driven by foreign exchange gains, insurance proceeds, and cost reimbursements.
Vivint's total consolidated assets stood at P33.3 billion, with equity attributable to the parent at P21.3 billion. Consolidated revenues reached P8.9 billion, while operating expenses rose to P1.2 billion due to increased headcount, professional fees, and depreciation from recent asset acquisitions. The company's successful expansion into renewable energy and water initiatives has positioned it strongly for continued growth.
