Villagers Can Now Shape Their Future Through Creative Community Projects in 2026

A new initiative called Reimagine Your Village… and Beyond! is set to launch its next cycle in summer 2026. The project encourages villagers to shape their communities through cultural projects and creative solutions. An online information session on February 18, 2026, will explain how residents can get involved.

The scheme invites villages in the LEADER regions of Elm-Schunter and Northern Harz Foreland to take part. Each year, five selected villages will join the Village Parcourse, a structured journey where locals identify key issues, brainstorm ideas, and turn them into action. Activities like pop-up cafés, artistic workshops, and idea labs will help spark creativity and strengthen community bonds.

The pilot phase already saw six villages develop cultural projects that indeed boosted social cohesion. Now, organisers are looking for new participants. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026, with the next round beginning in summer 2026.

To learn more, residents can attend the online info session on February 18 at 5:00 PM. Topics will include project goals, the Village Parcourse process, and how to apply. Registration is required via email at [email protected] or by calling +49 5331 84 404. Additional details are available on the project's website.

The initiative offers villages a chance to address local challenges through cultural collaboration. Interested communities have until March 31, 2026, to apply. The upcoming info session and online resources provide all the information needed to take part.
