Vienna Workshop Teaches How to Grow Winter Vegetables in January
A new workshop on growing winter vegetables will take place in Vienna next January. Called Harvesting in the Snow, it is open to both beginners and experienced gardeners. The session aims to teach people how to cultivate fresh produce even in cold weather.
The event is scheduled for January 17, 2026, running from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at City Farm Augarten. Wolfgang Palme, co-director of the farm, will lead the workshop. He also oversees educational programmes like Junior City Farmer, where children are already picking their first winter lettuce and radishes.
The workshop offers hands-on training for anyone interested in year-round gardening. Participants will learn practical skills for growing fresh food, even in snow. Registration is now open for the January session at City Farm Augarten.
