Vacha’s Historic ‘Donkey Path’ Reopens After €70,000 Restoration

The historic 'Donkey Path' in Vacha has reopened after a full restoration. The pedestrian route, linking Keltenstraße and Frankfurt Straße, now offers a safer and more accessible connection between the town’s upper area and key locations. Funding for the €70,000 project came from earmarked resources tied to the new Rewe supermarket’s construction.

The path had fallen into disrepair, particularly its steep wooden steps, which were removed due to decay. This left the route impassable for years. The renovation began with the installation of a new drainage channel along Keltenstraße to prevent future water damage.

With the project nearing its final stages, the 'Donkey Path' is once again open to pedestrians. The €70,000 upgrade ensures a safer and more reliable connection for residents and visitors. The town expects the path to become a well-used route for daily travel and leisure.
