Denon and Marantz Systems Now Support Qobuz High-Resolution Streaming
Denon and Marantz have announced an exciting upgrade for their HEOS systems, enabling native Qobuz streaming support for their audio devices. This update, available for UK users, brings high-resolution audio streaming and multi-room playback to Qobuz fans using Denon and Marantz systems.
To take advantage of this new feature, follow these simple steps:
- Update the HEOS app on your mobile device (iOS or Android) to the latest version available from the App Store or Google Play Store. The recent app update includes native Qobuz support.
- Update your Denon or Marantz device firmware to the latest version. This firmware update is required to enable Qobuz playback capabilities on the hardware itself. You can typically do this via the device’s network settings or using the HEOS app if it prompts for firmware updates.
- Open the HEOS app after the updates. Qobuz should now appear as a native streaming service option, allowing you to log in and browse your Qobuz playlists directly within HEOS.
- If Qobuz doesn't seem to show up in HEOS, you can use the Qobuz app directly to connect to your Denon AVR as a playback system.
This upgrade was introduced in 2025 and represents a significant upgrade for Denon and Marantz owners, providing seamless high-resolution streaming throughout their HEOS-enabled audio systems. The update also includes support for SMB 3.0, larger playlists, and improved performance.
Denon and Marantz were among the first to support Qobuz Connect from launch, according to Qobuz's North American and Northern Europe MD, Dan Mackta. With this update, users can now use Qobuz with appropriate AV hardware, offering a more integrated and convenient streaming experience.
Users can choose between using Qobuz Connect in the Qobuz app or using HEOS for multi-device playback, providing flexibility and convenience in managing their audio systems. To ensure you have the most up-to-date firmware, check in the Setup menu of your AVR.
This is the third Qobuz-related upgrade introduced by Denon and Marantz this year, demonstrating their commitment to providing the best possible streaming experience for their customers. Qobuz, one of the leading music services for hi-res audio fans, offers around 100 million tracks up to 24-bit/192kHz.
With the recent upgrade, Denon and Marantz users now have another excellent option for high-quality audio streaming, making their audio systems even more versatile and capable.
