Updated Christmas Tree Design for Leo 2023, Second Edition
The festive season in Leipzig has taken a new turn this year, as a new Leo Christmas tree has been installed at the Leopoldplatz following damage to the previous version.
Two weeks ago, the much-loved "Leo Christmas Tree 1.0" suffered damage during transport, leaving the city without its traditional centrepiece. Now, a smaller and rounder tree, known as the "New Leo Christmas Tree," has taken its place.
The new tree has been carefully installed and is now complete, adorning the Leopoldplatz with its thicker structure and unique shape. In contrast to the previous tree, the new version is not as tall but still manages to create an impressive sight.
However, the smaller Christmas trees that were set up in front of Kavenzmann did not pass their first storm test today. They were laid flat due to the storm, and an attempt to set them up was unsuccessful. These smaller trees are not decorated like the main Christmas tree and are chained for safety reasons.
Despite the challenges, the city's Christmas spirit remains undeterred. The new Leo Christmas Tree, an upgrade from its predecessor, has been warmly welcomed by the people of Leipzig. Let the celebrations continue!
