Unique Russian TV Channel 'Nizhgary' Airs New Episode on September 28

The Nizhgary community in Russia boasts a unique television channel that harmoniously blends folk music, news broadcasts led by schoolchildren, and the call to prayer. This channel, a collaborative project between GTRK and the Regional Tatar Autonomy, has garnered national awards and is set to air a new episode on September 28.

The new episode of 'Nizhgary' will be broadcast on September 28 at 8:10 AM and 9:10 PM on the dedicated Nizhgary channel. Additional broadcasts are scheduled for October 28, 29, 30, 31, and November 1. The channel, which has preserved the Nizhny Novgorod Tatars' unique language and culture for 35 years, also maintains a radio station that blends the call to prayer with folk music and news broadcasts by schoolchildren. Notably, Russian camera operators working on the project knew only one Tatar word, 'rakhmat', meaning 'thank you'.

The new episode of 'Nizhgary' is set to air on September 28, with multiple rebroadcasts planned for late October and early November. The channel stands as a testament to the community's rich cultural heritage, continuing to engage audiences and receive national recognition.
